Available for three language-versions of Wikipedia:

Each in its own downloadable application. The widgets downloads the "On this day" (or "Today in History") Box from the Wikipedia startpage and displays the data. The widgets runs on every Android Device (starting from Android 1.6) and is available for free on the market and on this website.
